The sand drag community has been dealt another big loss with the recent passing of Jim Depasse. Jim has a long history in the sport of sand drag racing dating back to the '70's. He went on to campaign a Top Alcohol Funny Car on the asphalt before heading back to the sand in recent years. Over the past few seasons, Jim has guided the 2-car Pro Mod team with his son Jimmy and Dave Huffman piloting the Jeeps. Jim and Jimmy put their efforts together to set the A/Pro Jeep World Record back in October 2016 with an incredible 2.644 ET. They would also score the 2018 California Sand Drag Challenge Pro Mod class championship. But even greater than those accomplishments for Jim would be seeing the next generation of Depasse hit the track as grandson Cooper has become a top competitor in the Junior classes. Jim always brought a positive influence to the race track and will be greatly missed by all. We send our condolences to the Depasse Family and Friends at this time.
