tbjeeplead.jpgThe 2009 sand drag racing season continues on being a record setting season, on and off the race track. On the track, in the month of February, both the Top Fuel and Top Alcohol E.T. class records were lowered at the NSDA Season Opener in Yuma. Geoff Gill ran a 2.284 to take the record for the first time into the 2.2 zone while Gary Mink ran a 2.403 to lower the Top Alcohol record dangerously close to the elusive 2.3 second realm. With the second race of the 2009 NSDA season coming up in March at the same record setting venue in Yuma, there is little doubt that the records will at least be challenged and likely lowered some more.

Off the track, NSDN posted our highest page view and hit numbers on a Daily Race Coverage weekend during the NSDA Season Opener in Yuma. I, personally, want to thank all of our readers and sponsors for making NSDN what it is. This just keeps on giving us the drive to keep moving on and providing the readers with the most up to date news from the world of sand drag racing.

I’d like to thank West Michigan Sand Dragway for coming back on board with NSDN as an advertiser for the 2009 season. WMSD’s 2009 race schedule can now be found in the NSDN Race Planner. For more information on WMSD, check out www.sanddragways.com.

With our site readership steadily increasing, NSDN keeps on becoming a better avenue for companies to showcase their products and name. If you are interested on coming on board with NSDN, feel free to email us This email address is being protected from spambots. NSDN is looking for more sand drag racing related content for our site. We are looking at doing some racer and car profiles in the next few months. If you are interested in being the subject of a profile, email me This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Also, we would like to continue the “Racer Blogs” after each event, send an email to the aforementioned email address for more information. Also, if you are reading this and are a race promoter/track owner, be sure to send all of the latest news to us on NSDN. The posting of press releases and race results is a free service, and we enjoy seeing the latest news from all across the country.

In March, NSDN will be traveling to Yuma, AZ for the second NSDA event of the 2009 season. NSDN’s Daily Race Coverage from Yuma will be presented to you by Heavy Metal/2 Dolla’ Bill Racing and Gill Bettencourt Racing. A big thank you goes out to these guys for stepping up to ensure the NSDN race coverage from this event.

Thanks again to all for the support of NSDN. See you at the races!
