The NSDA Spring Nationals continued in full swing on Saturday with the debut of the new Pro Outlaw bracket class. Charlie Johnson can lay claim to being the Inaugural winner in Pro Outlaw, taking the first place victory over Brendan Root. Scott Whipple continued to dominate Top Fuel backing up Friday’s 2.300 with a 2.309 in Saturday’s final qualifying round. Gary Mink (Top Alcohol), Paul Taylor (Super Eliminator), & Tim Martin (Top Eliminator) lead their respective categories leading into round one of eliminations on Sunday. Other class winners on Saturday include; Clayton Record (Pro Mod), Kevin Erwin (Sportsman Car), Joey Weaver (Motorcycle Sportsman), and Kody Hoffman (Junior Dragster).

Scott Whipple laid down the gauntlet during day one of NSDA’s Spring Nationals at Dome Valley Raceway. Whipple, in his first trip to Dome Valley Raceway, ran a blistering 2.300 in Top Fuel qualifying tonight. This also stands as the new Dome Valley Raceway track record. While Whipple leads the pack in Top Fuel, Gary Mink sits atop the pack in the Top Alcohol class with a 2.529 pass. In the first ever Super Eliminator class event, Paul Taylor leads the group with a nearly perfect 2.808 ET. Top Eliminator is currently led by 2008 NSDA TE Champion Tim Martin picking up where he left off with a 2.955 pass. Charlie Johnson (Pro) & Fran McKinney (Sportsman) were the day’s Gambler class winners.

Scott Whipple is leading the Top Fuel pack so far with a new Dome Valley Raceway Track Record of 2.300.
Gary Mink has a new look dragster since being repaired after his crash at Primm last Fall. He looks to have not lost a step over the winter and leads the class qualifying after day one.
Cronin Racing is hitting the first race with both of their Turbo 4 cyl-powered Dragsters. Art ("Meltdown" Green Dragster) is racing in the new Super Eliminator class & John (Red Dragster) is in the Top Eliminator category.
Todd Randolph sports a new Blower on his Altered this year & ran a 3.56 in testing today.
Clayton Record ran a great 3.38 during testing today with his Jeep.
Kermit Larby's Buggy is looking good starting the 2010 season.
Sidney Payne's new "Hypertension" Dragster looks amazing. Sidney made a good looking first pass in the SE class with the new car, however he broke on the pass and is out for the weekend.
