NSDA’s Season Opener is in the books. Dome Valley Raceway played host to the NSDA Spring Nationals and the track’s perfect race surface created some amazing racing during eliminations on Sunday. 3-time and defending NSDA TF Champion Scott Whipple started off his quest for 4 with a win at Dome Valley. Scott defeated John Cadzow in the final round with a 2.33 for the victory. In the Top Alcohol class, Scott Carroll took his first NSDA TA class win, defeating 2009 NSDA TA Champion Gary Mink. The debut of the new Super Eliminator class saw tight competition all event long. Billy Morris came out as the Inaugural Super Eliminator class champion, running a nearly perfect 2.803 in the final round to defeat Paul Taylor. The Top Eliminator final round came down to a battle of four-cylinder dragsters with Steve Hoffman defeating John Cronin. Other winners on the day were Israel Quintero (Pro 1), Steve Anthony (Pro 2), Charlie Johnson (Pro 3), and Mark Ratliff (Motorcycle Pro 1 & Motorcycle Pro 2). *Results Sheets Now Posted 3/23 -- All RT's for this event: .400=Perfect RT*

The NSDA Spring Nationals continued in full swing on Saturday with the debut of the new Pro Outlaw bracket class. Charlie Johnson can lay claim to being the Inaugural winner in Pro Outlaw, taking the first place victory over Brendan Root. Scott Whipple continued to dominate Top Fuel backing up Friday’s 2.300 with a 2.309 in Saturday’s final qualifying round. Gary Mink (Top Alcohol), Paul Taylor (Super Eliminator), & Tim Martin (Top Eliminator) lead their respective categories leading into round one of eliminations on Sunday. Other class winners on Saturday include; Clayton Record (Pro Mod), Kevin Erwin (Sportsman Car), Joey Weaver (Motorcycle Sportsman), and Kody Hoffman (Junior Dragster).

Scott Whipple laid down the gauntlet during day one of NSDA’s Spring Nationals at Dome Valley Raceway. Whipple, in his first trip to Dome Valley Raceway, ran a blistering 2.300 in Top Fuel qualifying tonight. This also stands as the new Dome Valley Raceway track record. While Whipple leads the pack in Top Fuel, Gary Mink sits atop the pack in the Top Alcohol class with a 2.529 pass. In the first ever Super Eliminator class event, Paul Taylor leads the group with a nearly perfect 2.808 ET. Top Eliminator is currently led by 2008 NSDA TE Champion Tim Martin picking up where he left off with a 2.955 pass. Charlie Johnson (Pro) & Fran McKinney (Sportsman) were the day’s Gambler class winners.
