lead.jpgThe 18th Annual U.S. Sand Nationals featuring PTN Race #3 ended up being one of the biggest races of the year with over 200 entries from all across the Midwest showing up for action at West Michigan Sand Dragway. Lone Star Graphics, the official photographers of the PTN series, were on hand & caught some amazing action. Here is a look at some of the weekend’s winners and story lines. lonestar.jpg

Fred Hugo was the big weekend's winner of the Pro Truck class.

Dan Wies sliced through the 3.5 Index class & took home the final round win over Jay Poortenga.

Jay Poortenga would come back on Saturday/Sunday & take a big win in the tough Quick 8 class.

Kentucky's George Colwell took home the Sport Truck class win over a tough field of 21 entries on Friday night.

Scott Scheytt debuted the U.S. Army TA Dragster at this event & ran a best of 3.03 in qualifying. Scott would suffer some mechanical woes in eliminations, but will definitely be ready for action in Missouri.
