tbjeeplead10.jpgSince I last wrote this column, NSDN has been to three races to round out the 2010 sand drag racing season. It all started off with our first trip to Kentucky’s Little Sandy Raceway for Show Me The Money 2010. This race ended up being one of the most entertaining races of the season. There was excellent racing with the big money on the line, and a great camaraderie at the track cultivating a great time for all who attended. I’m definitely looking forward to making the trip back to Grayson in 2011.

Next up on the schedule was a trip to Dome Valley Raceway in Wellton, AZ for the October Showdown. Despite a light turnout, there was excellent racing and everyone got as many passes as they wanted throughout the weekend. The weather was perfect and all had a great time. There is certainly a lot of buzz over the next event at Dome Valley, the AZ vs. CA Top Fuel Shootout in January. This event looks to be the next big west coast sand drag event. We have the race flyer & pre-registration form posted up here on NSDN. I’ll definitely be there with race coverage from this great upcoming event.

To finish off our 2010 coverage season, NSDN traveled to Kingman, AZ for the Napa Racing West Coast Winternational Sand Drags. The Route 66 Wings & Wheels staff did a great job pulling together an excellent facility at the Mohave County Fairgrounds. There was plenty of seating and a nice crowd showed up throughout the weekend. The racer turnout was outstanding, very reminiscent of the large gatherings that we were so used to in Primm. Route 66 Wings & Wheels’ Brian Devincenzi headed up the operation and despite the event not going exactly as planned we know Brian will get things sorted out & continue to host sand drag events at this great facility.

Looking towards 2011, I’m not exactly sure what the season is going to hold for NSDN, but I can tell you we will be at Dome Valley Raceway in January as well as be on-site to cover the entire Pro Truck Nationals tour. We also hope to cover some of the large scale events we have been to in recent years. Obviously, this all takes time and money to make it happen. If you are interested in coming on board with NSDN as a sponsor, or would like to sponsor a Daily Race Coverage, send me an e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The same goes for if you are a race venue and are interested in securing our race coverage, send me an e-mail and we’ll see what can be worked out to make that happen.

As we near closer to the holiday season, here is another reminder that NSDN’s store is located at http://www.cafepress.com/NSDN. We have some great apparel available through that particular online store.

Everyone have a great Thanksgiving, and I’ll be back next month to put some finality to the 2010 sand drag racing season that was.
