The Inaugural Nitro Nationals at the Dirt 300 in Albuquerque, NM wrapped up on Sunday with some top notch action for the crowd & TV cameras. Dennis Rieck emerged victorious in a great final round battle with Matthew Ludlow where Dennis used a solid 2.53/143MPH to take the Top Fuel victory. Scott Carroll led the Top Alcohol field all weekend and took the final round victory over Tim Martin with a 2.87. The usual suspects ended up in the final round of Top Eliminator with Paul Taylor taking the win over Jim Rossi in a great battle. Jackie Stidham was the big winner on Sunday as he won both the Pro Open and Pro Open Quick 8 categories. The Quick 8 categories were heads-up classes filmed for upcoming episodes of “On The Edge”. The Pro Open Quads Quick 8 was won by Lance Root. Other big winners on the day included Paul Jaramillo (Pro Open Quads), Roger Sayles (4X4), John Eberhard (Quads), Clayton Record (Pro Gambler), Chris Young (Pro Quads Gambler), Joshua Otero, Jr. (Juniors), and Elias Sierra (Youth). *Run Sheets are now posted.*

The Nitro Nationals continued to shake the new sand drag racing fans in Albuquerque, NM at the Dirt 300 on Saturday. Dennis Rieck stayed atop the Top Fuel qualifying list with his Friday night 2.47, however he did not sit complacent as he ran the Low ET of Saturday’s qualifying with a 2.54. Scott Carroll improved to a 2.82 to take lane choice into eliminations over Tim Martin on Sunday in the Top Alcohol class. Paul Taylor’s 3.11 from Friday was enough to hang on to the top spot, while his 3.12 was the quickest TE pass of Saturday. Chris Adamson (Pro Gamber) and Shane Moncavo (Pro Quad Gambler) were the day’s Gambler class winners. Eliminations kick off at 9AM Sunday morning.

The Nitro Nationals shook Albuquerque for the first time on Friday with qualifying kicking off at the Dirt 300. Dennis Rieck took the top spot in Top Fuel with a stellar 2.47 in the Hammer Down Hemi. Scott Carroll sits atop the Top Alcohol class heading into Saturday qualifying. Paul Taylor looked impressive after the long drive from Bakersfield as he topped the field with a 3.11. Qualifying continues on Saturday for the Heads-Up & Bracket categories. Elimination rounds will take place on Sunday.
