The 43rd Annual Las Vegas Jeep Club Jamboree wrapped up on Sunday with a full day of 300’ sand drag racing competition. Justin Adamson capped off his incredible weekend with three victories on the day (Pro 1, Pro Gambler 1, and X600 Jeep), and earned the Best Engineered award for his accomplishments on the whole weekend. Dave Stidham’s “The Grinch” Funny Jeep topped all in the fastest sand drag classes as Dave took the Pro Boost win while Junior Alimoot piloted the same ride to the Pro Drag victory while recording Low ET of the day with a 3.50. Another big winner on the day was Debbie Gilmore, who wheeled the Rattitude Jeep to two victories in the Women’s classes. Chris Calafiore finished off a great weekend taking the ultra competitive Pro Gambler 2 class (4.25 Index) win over Wes Gilmore as well as the Pro 2 title. Other big winners on the day included Doyle Quinn (Pro 4 & X600 Truck), Wes Gilmore (Duner), Jon Kendig (Pro 3), Terry Lawrence (UTV Unlimited), and Preston Kurtz (UTV 1000 Turbo & UTV Combo). The 43rd Las Vegas Jeep Club Jamboree kicked off on Saturday with the traditional Hill Climb event. Justin Adamson emerged the big winner on the day taking top honors in two of the most hotly contested classes X600 (Unlimited) and X200 (2WD Small Block). Justin’s wins took place in two different types of final rounds as he took the final round of X600 over Wes Gilmore after an 8-car field qualified for a Hill Drag race off while the X200 title was secured by narrowly edging Mike Williams in the unique Turtle Crawl final round. Mike Williams piloted Kenny Hayes’ Larry Minor Motorsports-built Dune Jeep to the X400 victory after a close Turtle Crawl victory over Chris Calafiore. Wendy Thompson swept the Women’s classes while Jon Warren doubled up in the 4WD Jeep categories. Other winners on the day included Doyle Quinn (XX400 Truck), Jack Weddle (X300 Jeep & B Jeep), Bobby Stevenson (AA Trucks), and Doug Thompson (F Jeep). Sunday will feature the 300’ sand drag event with a full slate of classes in action.

NSDN is kicking off our Daily Race Coverage season at the Dumont Dunes with coverage of Sand Wars 2016. The Las Vegas Jeep Club is hosting this event for the 43rd time with great Jeep action along with the addition of the SXS Wars UTV's for the first time this year. This event will be full of action with Hill Climb / Hill Drags competition taking place on Saturday & traditional 300' Sand Drags on Sunday.
