National Sand Drag News - NSDN Archive National Sand Drag News (NSDN) is an online magazine covering the sport of sand drag racing. NSDN’s full array of up to the minute news and race coverage can be found online at www.NationalSandDragNews.com. Here is a brief explanation of what NSDN covers. The fast growing motor sport of sand drag racing consists of race cars that are very similar to their asphalt drag racing counterparts racing down 300 feet long (100 yard) tracks with a sand/dirt surface. The headliners of the show are the Nitro-burning Top Fuel dragsters that cross the finish line in under 2.5 seconds and reach speeds in excess of 160 MPH. Although the Top Fuel cars are the headliners of the show, multitudes of grass roots bracket racers compile the largest racer group in the sand. NSDN focuses on the hottest properties in sand drag racing, including coverage of the Pro Truck Nationals (PTN) series and other large independent events. Other large independent races across the country are also covered. NSDN covers these events with live race updates, race results, news, features, race videos, and photos. https://nsdn.us/index.php 2024-04-28T15:32:47+00:00 National Sand Drag News editor@nsdn.us Joomla! - Open Source Content Management Atoka Heartland Nats '19 Race Results 2019-05-25T22:44:09+00:00 2019-05-25T22:44:09+00:00 https://nsdn.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1043&catid=150&Itemid=55 Administrator editor@nsdn.us 21st Annual Heartland Nationals
Atoka Motorsports Park - Atoka, OK
May 24-26, 2019

Full Results

Top Alcohol
1st-Randy Kimbley

Top Eliminator
1st-Randy Kimbley
2nd-John Pate
3rd-Terry Glasscock
3rd-John Acker

Pro 1 Cars
1st-John Acker
2nd-Danny Mathews
3rd-Jim Fletcher

Pro 1 Quads
1st-Branden McDonald
2nd-Craig McNiel
3rd-Tommy Springer

Pro 2 Cars
1st-Jimmy Smith
2nd-Karl Ford

21st Annual Heartland Nationals
Atoka Motorsports Park - Atoka, OK
May 24-26, 2019

Full Results

Top Alcohol
1st-Randy Kimbley

Top Eliminator
1st-Randy Kimbley
2nd-John Pate
3rd-Terry Glasscock
3rd-John Acker

Pro 1 Cars
1st-John Acker
2nd-Danny Mathews
3rd-Jim Fletcher

Pro 1 Quads
1st-Branden McDonald
2nd-Craig McNiel
3rd-Tommy Springer

Pro 2 Cars
1st-Jimmy Smith
2nd-Karl Ford

SCSDA May '19 Race Results 2019-05-18T08:55:00+00:00 2019-05-18T08:55:00+00:00 https://nsdn.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1042&catid=150&Itemid=55 Administrator editor@nsdn.us SCSDA Marcus Norris Memorial Race
Soboba Casino, San Jacinto, CA
May 17-19, 2019

Full Race Results

Congrats to all of the Winners from this event...
Top Alcohol – Jim Hammond over Cory McClenathan
Top Eliminator – 4 Cars Left. Jim has a long history in the sport of sand drag racing dating back to the '70's. He went on to campaign a Top Alcohol Funny Car on the asphalt before heading back to the sand in recent years. Over the past few seasons, Jim has guided the 2-car Pro Mod team with his son Jimmy and Dave Huffman piloting the Jeeps. Jim and Jimmy put their efforts together to set the A/Pro Jeep World Record back in October 2016 with an incredible 2.644 ET. They would also score the 2018 California Sand Drag Challenge Pro Mod class championship. But even greater than those accomplishments for Jim would be seeing the next generation of Depasse hit the track as grandson Cooper has become a top competitor in the Junior classes. Jim always brought a positive influence to the race track and will be greatly missed by all. We send our condolences to the Depasse Family and Friends at this time.

{gallery}issue4-19/gallery-jimd{/gallery} The sand drag community has been dealt another big loss with the recent passing of Jim Depasse.
